Erica Synths announces new Analog Drum Machine: HexDrum
Erica Synths has announced the release of HexDrum. First premiered at Superbooth 2025, HexDrum is an analog drum machine that has been created in collaboration with Hexinverter Électronique. This drum machine shall look to blend Erica Synths’ techno-focused sound with Hexinverter’s innovative Drums.
HexDrum features 10 distinct sound sources that include kick, snare, hi-hat, crash, and cymbal one shots. Driven by Hexinverter’s Mutant series, the sound engine is the driving force behind the drum machine. Each drum preset also includes a separate master output, which provides users with the creative freedom to tweak the sound without disrupting the entire master bus. This also makes it easier to connect with external gear, facilitating live performances. Effects like stereo panning, compression, sidechaining, and the “Master Drive” – a glue compressor, make processing a simple task.
HexDrum also comes with a sequencer that supports up to 64 steps per sequence. This sequencer can also store up to 256 unique user-made sequence patterns. Features like per-step probability, rolls, micro-timing, etc., make the sequence capable of live performances as well as studio use.
The impending release of the HexDrum is quite significant for Hexinverter Électronique. The HexDrum had been envisioned before the pandemic, it never really took shape before Hexinverter ceased operations in 2023. The release carries forward their legacy of innovation into a new product. Stacy Gaudreau, the founder of Hexinverter, expressed his appreciation for Erica Synths finishing what once seemed like a dream project.
HexDrum is expected to release later this year.
