Home Tech Moby relaunches Mobygratis with 500 new tracks for creators

Nearly two decades after its quiet debut, Moby free music archive Mobygratis has returned with a major upgrade. Originally launched in 2005 to give creators royalty-free access to instrumental music, the platform now re-emerges with 500 newly added tracks, all available for free download.

Since its inception, the library has supported over 50,000 creators, from indie filmmakers to choreographers and animators. Now, with a redesigned interface and more advanced filtering options, users can easily sort tracks by genre, mood, or BPM. As a result, finding the right track has become faster and more intuitive.

Moreover, the relaunch includes expanded file format options. Nearly every piece in the library is now downloadable in MP3, WAV, and multitrack WAV formats. This added flexibility allows users to adapt the music more easily – whether they want to remix, edit, or rebuild from the ground up.

Additionally, Moby shared a note on his official website, reaffirming the platform’s mission “to provide free instrumental music for creators. Any creators. All creators.” He encouraged artists to make the most of the new tools and “have fun.”

Ultimately, Mobygratis continues to reflect its founding purpose: open access to quality music, without cost or complexity. Thanks to this refresh, Moby has reestablished a rare creative resource – for everyone.
