Moog teases Messenger, new synth set to be unveiled at Superbooth 2025

Moog has just confirmed that it will unveil its upcoming synth, the Moog Messenger, at Superbooth 2025.

Superbooth, known for its immersive experience and its reputation as a unique musical exhibition, will serve as the stage where Moog unveils its latest synthesizer to the world!

Moog shared a cryptic video on its YouTube channel, showcasing a group of workers recording sounds in obscure locations. The video then transitions to corporate professionals using those sounds to create something new. The all-new synth is revealed at the end. Grammy-winning producer and longtime Moog supporter Mike Dean also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his 425 album, which features the Moog Messenger.

What is Moog Messenger?

While full details about the Moog Messenger will be released on May 8th, here’s what we know so far from the teasers. The Moog Messenger is a compact, powerful analog synthesizer. The nature-focused imagery in the video may suggest that the Messenger blends classic analog warmth with some never-before-seen features. The YouTube video description reads:

“A new mode of communication has arrived. A carrier of universal language, a catalyst for human connection, a machine for deeper meaning. This device translates ideas into actuality. It exists in a space where experimentation meets expression, where the sights and sounds of the natural world intersect with notions of the cosmic beyond. It speaks without saying a word, as hidden messages weave into waveforms. To understand these messages, we must listen and observe. In this moment, we’re all unified by a shared experience. It’s something between discovering and witnessing…”

From what we can tell, it’s a 32-key compact synthesizer, likely a monosynth, featuring multiple waveshaping oscillators and a sub-oscillator. There are also additional controls for modulation and glide. A sequencer similar to the one in Moog Muse can also be seen. The headphones featured in the video were particularly intriguing, though their meaning remains unclear.

Pricing & Availability

Unfortunately, Moog hasn’t released any further official information just yet. More details about the Moog Messenger are expected to drop on May 8th. Moog has also changed its profile picture on social media, though we couldn’t determine what it represents.

Moog will be exhibiting at Superbooth 2025 and is expected to be one of the busiest booths during the three-day event.
