Orbital & Confidence Man revive a classic with ‘Re-lush’: Listen
Orbital and Confidence Man have joined forces to release Re-lush, a bold reinterpretation rooted in the legacy of Orbital’s 1993 tracks Lush 3-1 and Lush 3-2. This collaboration not only bridges generations but also arrives just ahead of Orbital’s upcoming expanded reissue of the Brown Album, due May 23 via London Records.
The track combines Janet Planet’s playful vocals with producer Sugar Bones’ crisp, modern edge. At the same time, it preserves the hypnotic core of the original Lush tracks. According to Orbital, the remix struck an ideal balance: “It’s totally Lush, totally Orbital, totally modern, and totally Confidence Man.”
For Confidence Man, the opportunity was both thrilling and surreal. “We were like rabid dogs with the stems,” they joked, calling Lush one of their all-time favorite dance tracks.
Re-lush follows Orbital’s recent remix of Confidence Man’s Far Out, underscoring a creative partnership built on mutual admiration. Meanwhile, anticipation builds for the Brown Album reissue, which includes 23 bonus tracks, exclusive mixes, and a collector’s vinyl box set.
Orbital will support the reissue with three UK dates in May, including a headline show at Brighton’s Chalk and appearances in London.
Both Re-lush and the reissue land May 23. Stream the track on Spotify below or via your preferred platform here.
