The Chemical Brothers headline show at ‘The Beach’ festival in Japan gets cancelled, Spotify O-East announced as new venue
Set to headline the first-ever ‘The Beach’ festival at Makahuri Seaside Park in Chiba, Japan, The Chemical Brothers have announced a new short notice venue change, with the original event being cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
With the highly-anticipated ‘The Beach’ festival set to take place for its first ever edition later today (31/05), organisers from ‘ACID: A Concept in Dance’ have announced the cancellation of the event due to to severe weather conditions occurring at this moment in time in Japan, with safety for all involved being prioritised. Headlining the festival, legendary English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers have now taken to their social media accounts, announcing that they “have secured at very short notice a venue in Shibuya: Spotify O-East.”
Paving their way in the dance scene in the most immersive of manners, The Chemical Brothers consisting of Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands continue to make history with each endeavour, and with fans alike eagerly awaiting their special DJ set in Japan, they could not leave without opting for any alternative possible. Set to take place at the beach in Makahuri Seaside Park in Chiba, ‘The Beach’ also boasted a heavy lineup, as alongside The Chemical Brothers, the likes of Sara Landry, Mura Masa, DONGROSSO and other highly-acclaimed Japanese acts were set to take centre stage at this inaugural event. With “inclement weather” cancelling now the festival, and all alternatives considered, this unfortunate circumstance has unfolded right before our eyes.
A cancellation that could not be avoided, Japanese fans have showed their love for The Chemical Brothers in the most profound of ways, as despite the short notice of venue change, the second event is now also fully-sold out, with the duo set to take over the Spotify O-East venue in Shibuya in their own distinct and truly spectacular way. A clear indicator of their impact on a global scale, The Chemical Brothers continue to enhance their legacy at every given chance, and we of course, are all for it!
