Zhu teases new direction in social media post

Throughout his storied career, Zhu has never been afraid to take chances with his sound and style. In his latest creative push, he leans into a journey towards Roswell, NM.

When he first burst onto the scene, Zhu was instantly iconic despite his mysterious status within the industry. Hiding his identity allowed him to be free from social commentary and criticisms while allowing his incredible releases to set the tone for his artistic image. Just over a year removed from his latest album, the sprawling masterpiece Grace, he is beginning to tease his latest musical venture. Taking to Instagram, he is beginning to detail the inspiration for his upcoming new project.

The fires that plagued Los Angeles at the beginning of 2025 captured the hearts and spirits of the world as many lost their homes and more in the relentless blaze. Zhu was amongst those threatened by the flames, and he used the time to leave his home and embark on a road trip towards one of the most iconic and mysterious landmarks in America, Roswell. With a snippet of new music, he writes, “After the fire, I set out on a roadtrip. I wanted to create in the moment. Nothing too planned, just capturing the moment as it happened. I’m an independent artist now. This is the beginning of the rhino sessions. Every few days, I will share something new, until we reach the final destination: Atlas F Missile Silo in Roswell, NM.”

There are no further details on this upcoming project but it appears Zhu is ready to embark on this next chapter of his incredible career.
