Anyma and Layton Giordani remixed Shakedown’s ‘At Night’: Listen
Anyma and Layton Giordani team up again for a remix to show off their great production skills. This time they took a look at 2002’s At Night, straight from the work of the Swedish music troupe Shakedown.
Just over a year after their last remix collaboration, the two producers have teamed up again. Layton Giordani and Anyma reworked the iconic Loofy track Last Night, which was a huge hit in the underground scene. Now, they’ve remixed At Night, one of Defected Records’ greatest hits. The song was written by Swedish music act Shakedown, and although they too were founded in 1999, it was their hit song that brought them international fame. The song has been remixed by many in the past, including Purple Disco Machine and Peggy Gou. And now available on most streaming platforms, the rework by Anyma and Giordani. Another interesting fact is that in recent months a joint ID for the two DJs has started to circulate, now as a self-release with vocals by British singer Magnus.
Although their previous remix already showed how well their work fits together, this new project definitely confirms it. The sound of this product is something fantastic, it’s clear that quality is more than quantity for both of them. The track comes across fully with Anyma’s new generation vision and moody atmosphere that transports the listener to an almost unknown galaxy in terms of visuals. On the flip side, there’s Layton Giordani, another inspirational figure from the new generation school of techno, who has followed his signature style by incorporating pulsating groove into the remix. The original Defected release, from the disco sounds of the time, has been brilliantly lifted into the melodic techno world of today, giving the original single a real new energy. Anyma recently announced the full tracklist for his upcoming third studio album, which promises to be really interesting.
