David Guetta & Cedric Gervais revisit disco roots with ‘A Better World’: Listen
David Guetta and Cedric Gervais have teamed up once again, unveiling ‘A Better World’ – a bright, hopeful single rooted in nu-disco, soul, and French house. Released just in time for summer, the track draws inspiration from Jackie Moore’s 1970s classic and revives it with fresh vocals, replayed instrumentation, and a feel that bridges retro and modern dancefloors alike.
Notably, ‘A Better World’ marks a return to their early influences. Having first made their mark in underground clubs in Paris and Marseille, both Guetta and Gervais channeled their formative disco-era sets into this production. Cedric reflected, “We wanted to bring back the sound we grew up on—DJ Falcon, Cassius, Daft Punk—true French house. I’m very proud of what we’ve created.”
This isn’t their first collaboration. The duo previously linked on the 2016 hit ‘Would I Lie to You’, which surpassed 500 million streams, followed by last year’s ‘Switch’ on Spinnin’ Records. Meanwhile, Gervais has continued to shape the scene, delivering ‘Bad Girl’, ‘Feel Better’ with Sick Individuals, and remixes of ‘We Are Family’ and ‘House Music’, while touring globally from EDC Orlando to Marquee Vegas.
As for Guetta, he returns to Ibiza this summer with residencies at Ushuaïa and UNVRS, while also headlining major stages at Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Lollapalooza, and the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille.
