Dua Lipa brings out Jamiroquai for London show
Although an outright star on her own, Dua Lipa is quite comfortable sharing the stage with other legends. During a recent performance in London, she brought an icon from the mid-’90s.
Taking the stage at Wembley Stadium in London on June 20th, Dua Lipa was welcomed by 70,000 fans. Thanks to hits such as Houdini, Levitating, and the smash hit Cold Heart alongside Elton John, she has emerged as a modern icon of the pop-dance industry. Showing her appreciation to the sold-out arena, Lipa told the crowd, “It is 10 years since our first ever London show to about 350 people, and I just dreamt of a night like this where I get to be in front of 70,000 people.” She then surprised the audience with an appearance from an iconic British singer-songwriter.
As Jay Kay Friday, vocalist of Jamiroquai, emerged to the excitement of those at Wembley. Dua Lipa often performs singles that were written by artists from the region where she is performing, and recently brought out Troye Sivan, Tame Impala, and Neil Finn of Crowded House. With Jay Kay Friday by her side, Lipa’s band launched into the iconic Jamiroquai hit, Virtual Insanity. Check out footage from the incredible performance below.
