Eric Prydz opens the vault on Holosphere 2.0 with behind-the-scenes docuseries
Eric Prydz has launched the first installment of a three-part documentary, offering an intimate look into the creation of Holosphere 2.0 – his most ambitious live show to date. Moreover, this behind-the-scenes project, developed in collaboration with [UNVRS], sheds light on the technical mastery and artistic vision driving the next evolution of Prydz’s immersive stage concept.
Inside the Vision: From Concept to Club Night
Set against the backdrop of Ibiza, the documentary captures the intricate journey from concept to reality. Beginning with the initial designs and leading into the final rehearsals, it explores the challenges and triumphs of building Holosphere 2.0 – now in residency every Monday night through September 1st, 2025, at the island’s newest ‘Hyperclub’, [UNVRS]. Furthermore, each week, a new chapter lands on the Eric Prydz YouTube channel, inviting viewers to witness the scale and scope of the project unfold.
Moreover, the film takes viewers inside the minds of the producers, visual artists, venue managers, and effects teams that brought this vision to life. Unreleased footage showcases the final product in full effect, offering rare glimpses of what it takes to build a live experience of this magnitude.
Beyond the Sequel: Holosphere 2.0 Reimagined
Holosphere 2.0 was purpose-built for [UNVRS], with no element off-the-shelf. Standing over eight meters tall and weighing eight tonnes, the Sphere consists of three concentric LED layers—housing Prydz himself inside a futuristic orb that responds in real time to his music. Unlike its 2019 predecessor, this iteration ditches linear storytelling in favor of fluid, ever-changing visual worlds.
“We’ve waited six years for this,” says Eric Prydz. “Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. The technology needed to catch up with our vision as every single part of Holosphere 2.0 is bespoke and original. This is what we always dreamed of.”
To deliver on that dream, the team enlisted acclaimed digital creators like GMUNK, who combined practical studio effects – filmed in Los Angeles – with cinematic CGI. As a result, every moment inside the Sphere feels sculpted, from rotating plasma fields to glimmering crystal structures, pushing the boundaries of what club visuals can be.
This isn’t just a follow-up. Instead, Holosphere 2.0 stands as a bold redefinition of what a live electronic music performance can achieve – built for the future, powered by obsession, and crafted without compromise.
