Recently, a huge fire broke out in front of the Ushuaïa nightclub in Ibiza. The fire started spreading at around 2:30 am on 10 June and damaged several buildings. The devastating fire originated in front of the Playa D’en Bossa venue and destroyed two restaurants and another building (which was due to open in the next days). 18 firefighters arrived on the scene with six trucks. In addition, two ambulances arrived, as 5 people who were on the scene needed treatment.
The head of Urbanism for the Sant Josep City Council visited the area to inspect the building’s structure after a fire broke out in front of the beach. Due to the location, environment, and coastal personnel were also involved. Thirty families were evacuated but were able to return the next morning, according to Mayor Vicent Roig. The staff of Ushuaïa also helped to resolve the incident as quickly as possible and were commended by the Mayor of Sant Josep. The club suffered no losses as a result of the fire and continues to operate unchanged. On Saturday, there will be more interesting performances, as well as a Kölsch or a Kitty Amor set.
Several videos of the fire started circulating on social media on different platforms, see one below. The firefighters have not said much about the origin of the flames, but their assumption (and based on the first videos) is that it started from a restaurant terrace.
