Krewella returns after three years with emotional techno single, ‘Crying On The Dancefloor’: Listen

Krewella has officially returned after three years with their new beautiful melodic techno track, Crying On The Dancefloor. 

The date was March 4, 2022, when the world received the last work of the superstar sister duo, Krewella. However, after three years, that stat has changed as the two officially come out of their hiatus to release their new single, ‘Crying On The Dancefloor.‘ Displaying the versatility of their artistry, the track is a captivating, melodic techno piece that is rich and deep in emotion, passion, and thought.

Stating in a post earlier this week that the uncertainty of ever creating music again was looming heavily after the conclusion of the ‘The Body Never Lies‘ tour, Yasmine Yousaf said that she and her sister Jahan discovered that the willingness to persevere through the trials and tribulations they experienced throughout their career was possibly “[their] current selves urging younger Jahan and Yasmine to put one foot in front of the other because there was so much wonder and joy and healing to be discovered on the journey.“ And those moments have led to the start of this new era of the two with the release of this single.

The track begins with a beautiful acoustic guitar line featuring long-time collaborator Cody Tarpley. Shortly after, we are reintroduced to the familiar, stunning vocals of Jahan and Yasmine as they tell a story of longing and power. Krewella doesn’t show their hand early as they keep you engaged and guessing on which direction they might take the drop. As the chorus ends, they introduce a beautiful vocal melody with a tremolo effect, and as the kick is brought back in it results in a euphoric melodic techno-inspired drop.
