Universal Audio has released the Anthem Analog Synth, designed to bring analog-style textures and character to music production. Anthem aims to deliver a variety of powerful sounds within a streamlined digital interface.

Anthem does not rely on external hardware and is fully compatible with most DAWs. It also joins the UAD Spark subscription, giving users access to over 40 other tools, including compressors, reverbs, and tape effects. Right now, the plug-in is being offered at a limited-time price of $149.

Anthem stands out due to its analog filter, vintage modulation effects, and built-in step sequencer. These features allow users to shape tones the way they want. The step sequencer further supports polyrhythms, accents, and generative sequences. Lev Perrey, Vice President of Product at Universal Audio, noted that the company’s goal was to create a synth that feels intuitive and inspiring. “With Anthem, we wanted to make a synth that didn’t just emulate vintage hardware — we wanted it to inspire creativity,” he said. “It feels analog in all the right ways: fast, expressive, and alive.

While Anthem doesn’t attempt to directly model a specific vintage synth, it looks to emulate a few sonic characteristics of classic analog gear. Anthem Analog Synth is now available for download from the Universal Audio website and through UAD Spark.

Price: $149
