Above & Beyond sat down with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1this week to mark the upcoming release of their new album, ‘Bigger Than All of Us’, out July 18. After a seven-year gap between studio albums, the GRAMMY-nominated trio spoke candidly about reconnecting with their creative core, managing burnout, and reimagining their relationship with fans and touring life.

From the outset, the band emphasized the role of community in shaping the album’s message. Tony McGuinness explained the title by highlighting the global fanbase they’ve built—what they lovingly call the Anjuna Family. According to him, their journey has always remained “fan-focused,” and the new record aims to reflect that shared experience.
Throughout the interview, the trio didn’t shy away from heavier topics. McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki discussed the toll of years on the road, emphasizing the need to slow down and make touring more sustainable. Yet even as they scale back, they revealed plans for an ambitious 16-date amphitheater tour, complete with new staging developed during Siljamäki’s return from a personal hiatus.
Meanwhile, creative integrity remains the group’s compass. Jono Grant reinforced their belief in making music for themselves first—an ethos that drove previous fan-favorite projects like Group Therapy and now underpins the new album. They also spoke movingly about the real-world impact of their music, recalling fans who found strength through life’s darkest moments.
With ‘Bigger Than All of Us’, Above & Beyond continue to evolve—sonically, emotionally, and intentionally. Watch the full interview below:
