Anderholm passes away after battle with cancer

The melodic house community is mourning the loss of Anderholm, who passed away following a prolonged battle with brain cancer. Known offstage as Yevhen, the Ukrainian artist quietly shaped the emotional core of This Never Happened, the label founded by Lane 8, where he released some of his most moving work.

His family confirmed the news on his official social media, writing: “To all who loved Yevhen aka Anderholm and his music — thank you for being part of his journey. After a long fight with brain cancer, he has passed away. His music remains, a beautiful reminder of his soul.” The message, signed with gratitude and heartbreak, quickly drew a wave of tributes from fans and fellow artists.

Among the first to respond was Lane 8, who signed Anderholm to his label and consistently championed his work. “So heartbroken,” he wrote. “RIP to a beautiful beautiful person gone way too soon. Sending love to his friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.”

Through deeply personal tracks like Fragments, Rising, and Stay, Anderholm carved a distinct space within the melodic house world—often leaning into introspection rather than euphoria.
