Making history right before our eyes, Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte wrecked complete havoc during her highly-anticipated live performance(s) at Weekend One of Tomorrowland, and in doing so, she became the first female act to perform on the festival’s iconic MainStage not once, but twice in the same day. Opening the festival on Saturday, July 19th, de Witte brought pure serenity with a perfectly curated Daybreak Session that set the tone of what was yet to come. A clear indicator of de Witte’s versatile nature, it was then that nightfall hit, and pure chaos was unleashed on the MainStage, for a closing set that was quite frankly out of this world.

Wrecking complete havoc during Weekend One of Tomorrowland, Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte brought the heat on not one, but two occasions, as she became the first female act to open and close the MainStage of this iconic festival.

Featuring some heavy-hitting tracks that make de Witte’s musical repertoire as scintillating as it is, attendees and livestream viewers alike were in for an experience that will truly remain engraved in their core memories for years and years to come. A 14-track techno onslaught that had everyone begging for more at its completion, this closing set was a clear message on the unrelenting greatness that defines de Witte and her music, with every single aspect coming together in a manner that is hard to go amiss. From start to finish, and everything in between, de Witte truly embraced the opportunity that was presented to her, and having already set the tone with a slightly calmer set during the opening of Day Two, it would only make sense that the Closing set would be complete off the charts.

A true testament to de Witte’s rise within our community, these two sets can only be seen as a full circle moment for the Belgian techno queen herself, having of course performed for the first time at Tomorrowland back in 2011 under a different alias, and following a local contest that she had won. Fast-forward to now, this time round was most certainly for the books, making both of her live performances an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. A fitting way to celebrate Tomorrowland’s stand of unity and love, de Witte brought the energy in more ways than none, resulting in an opening and closing sequence for the ages, and we of course, are all for it!
