An electronic music fan shared their emotions in a video after spending a large sum of money for Tomorrowland 2025 and being told the mainstage caught on fire.
The first weekend of Tomorrowland 2025 was a trying time for the entire industry. The world’s most recognizable electronic festival suffered major adversity just days before its start as the biggest feature of the event, the mainstage, caught on fire resulting in the entire structure being destroyed. Many shared their heartbroken reactions across social media as it is no secret that the planning for Tomorrowland takes a fair amount of planning and spending.
One fan in particular took to TikTok in what is now a viral video to share that they spent $16,000 in order to attend Tomorrowland 2025. In the video, you can see TikToker, @buckybarnicals, devastated after learning the news about the fire. With tears in her eyes, she sets the camera down and takes a deep breath with her hands over her head. The caption along with the video states “I leave on Monday and have been looking forward to this trip for 13 years and have 16k already spent and invested and now the mainstage is burnt down.“
In the description for the video, she clarifies that the costs “were split between two people who have saved and waited and worked for this for a long long time.“ Multiple people including artists took to the comment section to try to find a bright light for the situation and cheer up the woman. Explaining how the new design would make for a more intimate experience.
However, the post was also met with some controversy as multiple comments questioned why a person would spend that much money on a single event. Others suggested that “maybe it’s a sign to get [her] priorities right.“
