Iman Hanzo steps into a new chapter with the release of ‘Phakama’, marking his debut on Warner Music. Out today, June 27, the track blends Afro-deep-house rhythms with a deeply spiritual core. Its title, meaning ‘rise’ in Zulu, captures the essence of personal growth and inner strength, themes that run through both the music and Hanzo’s creative journey.

From the very first beat, ‘Phakama’ offers more than a club-ready groove. It serves as a reflection of Hanzo’s transformative travels through Egypt, China, and Iceland. These experiences informed the track’s organic textures and uplifting vocal layers, making it a standout summer release. As Hanzo put it, “Phakama is not just a track. It’s a state of becoming.”

Visually, the single’s cover adds another layer of meaning. Shot six years ago in Hamburg’s Stadtpark, the portrait shows Hanzo in a moment of stillness, a feeling echoed in the track’s calm energy.

This release also signals the countdown to The Triangle, Hanzo’s very own festival, set for July 12 in Hamburg. With a lineup that includes Claptone, Jaden Bojsen, and WITH U, the event positions Hanzo as a curator as much as a performer.

As summer unfolds, Iman Hanzo proves he’s not just rising—he’s leading, both in the studio and on the stage.
