According to a report by SIAE, Italy's live music sector generated just shy of €1 billion in revenue throughout 2024. The Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE) recently published its annual report on the live entertainment market with these findings. A 1.4% increase from 2023, the numbers reflect steady growth across all concerts, festivals, and cultural events in the country.
As per the report, the sector now makes up for 25% of Italy’s total entertainment spending, with a record 65,000 music events having taken place, drawing in over 29 million attendees across the course of the year. That is a 6.3% increase in the number of concerts, and a 2.9% increase on those attending them upon the previous year. Driving these numbers were visits from major international artists Coldplay, AC/DC, Metallica, Travis Scott, and Taylor Swift, with countless local events also contributing in hotspot areas such as Puglia and Campania in particular.
Standout events were even hosted at some of the countries most historic sites in the likes of Pompeii Amphitheatre and Ostia Antica.
