A new study reveals how music impacts the brain
Researchers at Aarhus University and the University of Oxford have been studying the impact of music on the human brain and discovered some interesting results. The new research, led by Dr. Mattia Rosso and Associate Professor Leonardo Bonetti has discovered that the brain actually reorganizes how it gathers information when music is playing. The researchers have labeled their findings as FREQ-NESS - Frequency-resolved Network Estimation via Source Separation, and reveals that brainwaves extend beyond simple layers of alpha, beta, and gamma and how the layers reorganize depending on the activity being engaged in.
