Tomorrowland gets green light for fireworks during second weekend

Tomorrowland enters its second weekend after a dramatic and emotional start to the 2025 edition. A fire destroyed the original Mainstage just days before opening, leading to a rapid rebuild that saw a smaller, more intimate version of the stage rise in its place. Despite the chaos, the first weekend welcomed over 200,000 attendees and ended with powerful performances by David Guetta, Charlotte de Witte, and Anyma. The atmosphere remained electric-fireworks included.

Now, heading into weekend two, the festival has once again received a positive safety recommendation to continue its nightly fireworks displays. The local government in Boom confirmed that Tomorrowland met all conditions outlined in its permit. Recent rainfall also helped reduce the risk of fire, contributing to the final decision.

Residents of the Bosstraat neighborhood received a letter this week confirming that fireworks will go ahead. Authorities review the situation daily and evaluate each show’s safety individually. “We understand this may raise concerns,” the city noted, “but all conditions have been met and the displays are coordinated with emergency services.”

About 60% of the fireworks used are low-noise, and the shows will take place at fixed times: 22:50, 23:50, and 00:57 on Friday and Saturday, and 22:50, 23:50, and 23:57 on Sunday. Locals can sign up for SMS alerts to stay informed on timing and updates.
