Violent Rolex thefts at Tomorrowland under investigation: 8 victims identified, including a mayor

The thieves acted with aggression. In some cases, they reportedly used pepper spray, and in one incident on Sunday, July 27, two suspects brandished a knife to keep people at a distance. They traveled either on foot or using electric scooters.

The suspects appeared to specifically target luxury watches, favoring high-end brands like Rolex, Tudor, and Hublot. A specialized website lists one stolen watch, a Rolex Milgauss Iconic Green Sapphire, for nearly €9,000.

Authorities are currently investigating whether the cases are linked and if a single group is behind all the attacks. “It’s not ruled out that more victims may come forward,” said Aerts. The local Rupel police zone is handling the investigation under the direction of the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office.

Meanwhile, Tomorrowland 2025 closed out its second weekend with record-breaking attendance, thousands of successful medical treatments, and positive reception to its reusable cup system. Yet despite its success, the festival also saw its share of controversy – from the canceled performance of Israeli DJ Skazi over security concerns, to environmental and neighborhood complaints about fireworks.

Local police urge anyone else who may have experienced similar thefts to come forward as investigations continue.
