AREA15 transforms Boeing 747 into nightlife venue as part of ‘Zone 2’ expansion

AREA15 continues to reshape Las Vegas entertainment by converting a 150-foot Boeing 747 into a nightlife and event space unlike anything else on the Strip. Once a celebrated Burning Man art installation, the plane now anchors the venue’s next evolution as part of the new Zone 2: The Terminals expansion.

This transformed aircraft stands at the heart of a 20-acre development that also features immersive installations, food destinations, and art experiences. With over 60 large-scale sculptures and 30 murals planned, AREA15 aims to deliver the largest permanent installation of monumental art in the American Southwest.

Meanwhile, the broader Zone 2 addition brings a wave of new attractions. Highlights include Dolls Kill’s flagship store, Universal’s Horror Unleashed, and the largest Museum of Ice Cream ever built. These additions reinforce AREA15’s vision of merging radical design with interactive entertainment.

Having welcomed over 15 million visitors since its 2020 debut, AREA15 now sets its sights on deeper impact. “We’re redefining what experiential development can look like,” said Winston Fisher, CEO of AREA15, pointing to the 747 installation as a symbol of bold transformation.

Although the Boeing 747 venue doesn’t yet have an official launch date, Zone 2 opens to the public on August 14.
