Avicii Arena in Stockholm has emerged from a $92 million transformation that reshapes Europe’s largest spherical venue into a world-class listening space. Danish firm Stouenborg led the project, installing cutting-edge Constellation and Spacemap Go systems that precisely control and move sound in real time. Project manager Anders Jørgensen described the leap, saying the venue went “from the worst sounding in Northern Europe to one that’s now arguably the best.”

Furthermore, engineers introduced a retractable acoustic ceiling made from steel, designed to fine-tune reverberation and enhance rigging capabilities. This innovation not only improves sound clarity but also elevates production possibilities for lighting, staging, and special effects.

Ultimately, the redesign serves as both a technical triumph and a heartfelt tribute to Tim Bergling, the Swedish icon known globally as Avicii. By merging advanced engineering with a commitment to emotional connection, the new Avicii Arena promises performances that feel both personal and powerful—cementing its status as a premier destination for artists and audiences alike.

Last month, Tomorrowland’s 2025 edition celebrated Avicii’s enduring legacy with a dedicated memorial: a 144‑square‑metre installation dubbed Avicii Forever: The Tribute, featuring never‑before‑seen photos and audiovisual storytelling that invited festivalgoers to reflect on his life amid tomorrow’s energy. Additionally, his iconic Mainstage sets from 2012, 2014, and 2015 are now available in spatial audio via the Tomorrowland app and Apple Music, letting fans relive the electric magic as though standing front and center.
