Gorillaz have stirred speculation about fresh music as they prepare to celebrate 25 years with a string of special events. In a recent Channel 4 interview, Damon Albarn revealed that their upcoming four-night run in London will revisit their first three albums, while the fourth show remains a “mystery.” When pressed on whether it would feature new tracks, he confirmed, “There might. I mean, yes, in that sense, yeah,” prompting Jamie Hewlett to jokingly gesture for him to stop.

These concerts form the heart of the band’s anniversary celebrations, joined by House of Kong, an expansive exhibition at the Copper Box in London’s Olympic Park. Running daily until September 3, the experience offers fans a deep dive into the group’s creative world—showcasing visual art, unreleased material, and what fan account everythingorillaz claims could be a “snippet” of new music alongside fresh artwork.

Earlier this year, Albarn also told Les Inrockuptibles that his 2025 plans included finishing a new Gorillaz album. This would mark their first full-length release since 2023’s Cracker Island, which featured collaborations with Thundercat, Tame Impala, and others.

With the anniversary placing equal weight on reflection and reinvention, the possibility of new music adds an extra layer of anticipation – ensuring that both the shows and exhibition could become defining moments in the band’s next chapter.
