Plugin rivalries don’t often make headlines, but this one comes with a smile. Steven Slate, founder of Slate Digital, posted a funny video reacting to Waves’ new inTrigger plugin. The tool looks and works a lot like Slate Digital’s well-known Trigger drum replacement plugin.
In the clip, Slate praises Waves for doing a good job with the plugin. Then, with a grin, he points out its “super unique” name. He also reminds producers that Trigger by Slate Digital has been the industry standard for years, thanks to what he calls “the most accurate triggering” available.
Moreover, Slate used the moment to drop a hint. Trigger 3 is coming soon, and he says it will push accuracy and creative options even further.
