Already a long-time travel destination for electronic music fans, the island of Ibiza is a focal point for some of the most exciting clubs and residencies in the world. Every year, millions of fans flock to the region to experience the seemingly endless entertainment and picturesque landscape of the Spanish island. While A-list residencies and the emergence of new superclub UNVRS were amongst the headlines of the season, one individual character found newfound success most unexpectedly. Newcastle native Jack Kay took a summer trip to Ibiza and was captured and shared on TikTok, turning the construction worker into the famed Ibiza Final Boss.

With the rise of social media this century, the dance music community has embraced it to begin new trends and occasionally launch individuals to new levels of success. As one of the newest stars to emerge from the digital platforms, the Ibiza Final Boss is continuing to stay in the spotlight.

Originally captured in an 8-second clip, it was eventually viewed and shared over 20 million times, upending the life of Kay. Now, a new documentary titled THE IBIZA FINAL BOSS – HAIRCUTS & HANGOVERS: UNTOLD is airing on Channel 4. The feature follows Jack Kay as he returns to Ibiza, meets the man who initially caught him on film, and navigates the perils and pitfalls of viral success. The film also connects with his talent agent, Dave Reed, who recounts how he has never seen a sensation like Kay in his 20-year career. The short documentary is available now and is certainly a worthwhile watch for those curious about viral success, Ibiza, and of course, the Ibiza Final Boss.
