Ibiza experiences extreme flooding due to Hurricane Gabrielle
Although the tourist season is coming to an end, Ibiza remains a prominent destination for travellers, as well as home to many who help support the infrastructure and entertainment that make the region such a well-attended locale. The popularity of the Spanish island has only grown in recent years, prompting battles with local officials as the cost of living goes up, and attempts to maintain a clean and civil atmosphere continue to emerge amongst local authorities. The 2025 season saw a record 1.4 million passengers arrive through the Ibiza airport in July alone. As the calendar turns to October, the island is now facing a disaster from natural causes as high winds and rain pour into the region.
