XLR, located in Manchester, becomes the UK's first electronic dance music nightclub with a valid license to host the BYOB rule. This 200-capacity space has hosted a testing phase for the rule earlier this year with a party featuring UK Garage icon Main Phase and Frazer Ray. After the initial testing success, XLR is set to relaunch. With the new rule coming on September 24th, XLR is inviting Yung Singh and BushBaby.
XLR’s goal is to give the younger generation and youth an affordable option for going out to the nightclub. The UK’s recent cost-of-living crisis has disabled many people from having a joyful time without spending fortunes on upsold drinks. XLR promises ticket prices ranging from £10-£20 per person.
The Bring Your Own Booze scheme will come with some rules. Complying with the license rules, such as no glass bottles, no backpacks, and no re-entering the venue. Lockers have also been installed in the venue for alcoholic drinks storage. These rules are implemented for the safety of the staff and punters attending the clubs.
