SOZI delivers excitement and fun on ‘DREAM’ EP: Listen

Hailing from Los Angeles, the bar for talent and desire to stand out amongst the thousands of others in the region creates a unique drive in artists. Continuing her incredible run of releases and performances, SOZI returns with an incredible new collection of music.

The aptly titled DREAM EP captures both the ambitions of SOZI as well as the mindset and vision that comes with living in the entertainment capital of the world. From the opening digitized voice on Superstar all the way through to the closing moments of Lost In You, the singer remains focused and inspiring while never forgetting the most important part of attracting a fanbase: she is entertaining.

Superstar

With a title like DREAM, fans can be unsure what to expect when they first turn on the latest collection from SOZI. That notion is quickly put aside; this is not a collection of ambient sounds set to sleeping, this album tackles the ambitions and goals of the human spirit. The power and confidence shine through on Superstar as the LA singer rightly asserts her intentions to succeed over a foundation of infectious pop-house elements.

Out of the Blue

The second track on DREAM opens up to allow SOZI to drive further into the subconscious of the mind and spirit. The energy and conviction in her delivery reveal true emotion while also connecting with listeners, demanding they devour the melodies and lyrics so they can sing along on future listens. Hints of Anyma and the Afterlife stylized production drift into the drop, letting listeners know that this track is meant for big rooms, intended to bring listeners together to hear and feel the music and emotion.

Good Girl

On the third track of her latest offering, SOZI returns to the concepts of the collection’s opener. This is an ode to Los Angeles, the glitz, the glamour, and the lifestyle that is so unique to the region. With an understanding that can only truly come from living through the experiences of being an artist in the region, she relates the trappings of the area with precision, and her efforts to maintain her identity as the culture of the region demands all her being. The melodic techno elements and careful use of harmonies and effected vocals make this track incredibly infectious.

Lost In You

On the fourth and final track, SOZI gets her most personal and introspective. Crafting a hypnotic delay on her vocal, she sings the refrain of ‘I’m lost in you’ as her voice continues to ring out as if traversing an ocean of emotions. The production enhances the impact of the track and the power of the line, while sitting perfectly against the piano chords that define and shape most of the track. It is a beautiful ending to the collection and perfectly wraps up the contrast of fame versus finding real connection in the city of angels.
