Teile K1 Review: The Upgrade DJs Have Been Waiting For

Teile, the Berlin-based brand founded by Rampa of Keinemusik and Benjamin, has recently introduced the K1 headphones, specifically designed for DJs and music producers. What began as a fun project has quickly gained serious traction within the electronic music community, with most of Teile’s products—including merch and studio monitors—selling out rapidly. The K1 has been engineered with touring DJs in mind, combining a minimal aesthetic with a robust build that makes them both stylish and practical for travel and daily use. After extensive testing, here’s a closer look at how the K1 performs.

The K1 arrives in a compact, square box with the familiar Teile branding, and the contents are neatly arranged inside. The package includes the foldable K1 headphones fitted with replaceable ear pads, along with a 180 cm (6 ft) straight AUX cable supporting both 1/4” and 1/8” jacks. A built-in microphone, operable via USB-C with an optional cable, is also included. Documentation and a quick start guide round out the essentials.
For those who want more flexibility, optional accessories include a USB-C cable for digital connections and the KURLY coiled cable, tailored for dynamic DJ setups.
Design & Build Quality
At first glance, the K1 is easily one of the most striking DJ headphones on the market. The design is understated yet sleek, with a premium plastic chassis and generously sized ear shells. Comfort is clearly a priority—both the headband padding and ear cushions allow for extended sessions without discomfort.
Durability is another area where the K1 excels. The foldable structure makes the headphones highly portable, while detachable, high-quality cables ensure longevity despite the rigors of heavy use. The hinge mechanism feels sturdy, maintaining tension even after repeated folding and unfolding. While the headphones are marginally heavier than some competitors, the balance between comfort and toughness makes them travel-ready.
The reversible cable system accommodates both 1/4” and 1/8” jacks, with USB-C support for laptops and mobile devices. The included straight AUX cable is durable, while the optional KURLY and USB-C cables expand versatility further.
Crucially for DJs, one-ear monitoring has been thoughtfully addressed. The earcups rotate up to 135 degrees, enabling seamless single-ear use without compromising fit or stability.
Sound Quality
The K1 is powered by 40mm neodymium drivers, offering a generous diaphragm surface for fuller sound reproduction. This translates into deeper low-end response without sacrificing midrange clarity or high-frequency detail, making them well-suited for electronic music contexts.
With an impedance of 32 ohms, the K1 runs smoothly on everything I tested—from a club mixer to a laptop and even a phone. The bass emphasis was clearly noticeable while the mids stayed balanced enough. Overall, the element separation and clarity are amazing; however, the sound quality is kept with the DJs in mind and doesn’t really offer a neutral response. For beatmatching, the K1 leaves very little room for criticism.
Although the K1 doesn’t feature Active Noise Cancellation, passive isolation is more than sufficient thanks to the strong clamping force and snug earcup fit. Stereo imaging is also noteworthy for a closed-back design, delivering a wide and immersive field.
Everyday usability hasn’t been overlooked either. The integrated USB-C microphone adds convenience, while the included cable provides playback and call controls—functions that prove surprisingly useful outside the booth.

Teile has really ticked all the boxes with the K1. Design-wise, they’re easily among the best-looking headphones out there, pairing sleek aesthetics with practical touches like rotating earcups, plush cushioning, a foldable frame, and a detachable cable—making them built for the long run.
The sound delivers too, with crystal-clear separation and solid isolation that’s spot-on for DJing. For everyday use, details like USB-C connectivity and an inbuilt mic add extra convenience. Having relied on the HD-25s for years, the K1 feels like a genuine step up.
