Daft Punk’s ‘Human After All’ remixes gets first-ever vinyl release for 20th anniversary

Daft Punk are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark third album, Human After All, with the first-ever vinyl release of its companion remix collection. Originally issued exclusively on CD in Japan in 2006, Human After All Remixes featured a stellar lineup of artists including Justice, Soulwax, SebastiAn, Erol Alkan, and Peaches, each reimagining the French duo’s raw and industrial sound into a range of experimental club cuts.

The project, produced in just six weeks and released in March 2005, showcased a stripped-down, mechanical approach compared to the duo’s earlier albums Homework and Discovery. A year later, Daft Punk curated the Japan-only remix compilation, giving fans a rare glimpse into how their peers deconstructed the album’s robotic edge into new forms of dancefloor energy.

In June 2014, an expanded edition arrived in Japan, adding fresh takes from Basement Jaxx and The Juan Maclean, followed by a global streaming release later that summer. Now, for the first time, Daft Punk have gathered all Human After All remixes onto a limited 2xLP gatefold vinyl, arriving November 8.
