Splice Enters VST Plugins Market With Launch of Splice INSTRUMENT

At launch, Splice INSTRUMENT offers over 1,200 multi-sampled presets, with new additions planned monthly. The collection includes recordings such as Philip Glass’ baby grand piano, drums by Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney) recorded at Henson Studios, and orchestral performances from the BBC Symphony Orchestra captured at London’s Maida Vale Studios.

Developed in collaboration with Spitfire Audio, the platform aims to deliver studio-quality sounds through an accessible interface. Splice’s CEO, Kakul Srivastava, described the launch as “a major milestone,” marking the company’s move from samples into fully playable instruments. Paul Thomson, co-founder of Spitfire Audio, noted that the sounds build on the foundation of Spitfire’s LABS project, with recordings already featured in charting albums and film scores.

The release follows Splice’s acquisition of Spitfire Audio earlier this year. Splice INSTRUMENT is available in two tiers: a free plan offering hundreds of presets with monthly updates, and a subscription plan priced at $12.99 per month granting full access to the catalog of over 1,200 sounds.
