Tinlicker expand to trio and announce new album with stirring single ‘I Want My Freedom’: Listen
Tinlicker are entering a bold new era, as they officially expand from a duo into a trio with longtime collaborator Hero Baldwin joining as a full-time member. In celebration of this milestone, the Dutch act now unveils its emotive new single ‘I Want My Freedom’, which arrives alongside the announcement of a forthcoming 2026 album as well as an extensive EU/UK tour.
Building on years of creative chemistry, Hero’s addition feels like a natural progression. After sharing the stage with Tinlicker at their sold-out Melkweg Amsterdam debut as a trio and the spectacular Tinlicker In The Park at Crystal Palace Bowl, the synergy between the three has only deepened. Furthermore, Hero’s soulful vocals and songwriting blend seamlessly with Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer’s cinematic production style, resulting in a dynamic and emotional new chapter for the band.
Their latest single, ‘I Want My Freedom’, delivers that signature Tinlicker mix of uplifting synths, heartfelt lyrics, and finely tuned production. Driven by piano chords and crisp percussion, the track captures both independence and defiance through Hero’s powerful vocal performance. “Freedom is never handed to us; it’s something we fight for,” she shares. “I wanted to create a song of inclusion with a nod to what I personally feel I’ve lost.”
Following their acclaimed 2023 album ‘Cold Enough For Snow’, Tinlicker’s upcoming fourth LP promises to push their artistry further than ever. With their 2026 tour and new lineup locked in, this marks a defining chapter for one of electronic music’s most evocative acts.
