Daft Punk share new animated video for ‘Contact’, inspired by their Fortnite experience: Watch
French electronic legends Daft Punk have released a striking new animated video for their 2013 track ‘Contact’, the closing chapter of their Grammy-winning album Random Access Memories. The visual, which debuted this week, reimagines the duo’s futuristic aesthetic through the lens of their recent collaboration with Fortnite.
Created in partnership with Epic Games and digital studio Magnopus, the video expands on the story introduced during The Daft Punk Experience inside Fortnite. It follows the duo’s signature robot personas as they traverse deep space, drawn toward a mysterious pulsing signal that mirrors the song’s climactic energy. Subtle references to their Alive 2007 tour and other iconic moments appear throughout, rewarding long-time fans with visual Easter eggs.
The release continues Daft Punk’s celebration of their legacy following recent archival projects, including the Random Access Memories (10th Anniversary Edition) and the first-ever vinyl pressing of Human After All Remixes. Earlier this year, Thomas Bangalter also returned to the spotlight with a public appearance in Paris, further fueling interest in the duo’s ongoing cultural influence.
While ‘Contact’ signals no reunion, it reaffirms Daft Punk’s unmatched impact on electronic music and visual storytelling. The video is now available to watch on YouTube, watch it below:
