Renowned as one of the most intriguing and prolific artists of all time, David Bowie captivated millions of fans throughout his storied life and career. Now, a new documentary will focus on the final years of the late musician, shining a light on his work, life, and more through rare interviews and footage.

Few artists transcend the social and cultural paradigm the way David Bowie did throughout his incredible career. Often envisioned as an amorphous alien, he constantly reinvented himself over the years, while continuing to challenge and captivate audiences worldwide. His tragic passing in 2016, which occurred just days after the release of his final album, Blackstar, continues to fascinate and intrigue people all over. Leaning into the prestige and power that he delivered right up until the end, the team at Channel 4 will give fans a deeper look into his final creative push with the release of a new documentary titled The Final Act.

Helping uncover the majesty and mystery of David Bowie, the documentary will run for 90 minutes and feature never-before-seen footage and interviews with those who experienced the musician in his final years. Director Jonathan Stiasny intends to begin the story with Bowie’s incredible public revival at the 200 Glastonbury Festival and follow the artist until his final days. Speaking on the project, the director says, “What fascinated me most when making this film was how Bowie’s final chapter wasn’t an ending, it was a resurrection.” While there is currently no release date revealed, this will certainly be a must-see for fans, new and old of David Bowie, when it is released.
