When streaming platforms overhauled the music industry, it seemed that no crisis could be worse. Fast forward to 2025, and Deezer reveals harrowing statistics regarding the upload of AI-created content.

Back in September, Deezer shared that 30,000 AI-created tracks were uploaded to the platform on a daily basis. Just two months later, the French streaming service has stated that the number has gone up to 50,000 a day, with over 70% of the streams for these uploads being flagged as fraudulent. This drastic uptick has been seen throughout the year as many in the industry continue to grapple with the rise of Artificial Intelligence and its ability to quickly create content. To combat this influx of AI-created music, Deezer utilizes tools to remove the content from its platform and insists that only 0.5% of streams on the service come from such uploads.

In a statement, Deezer insists that it removes all AI-generated content from its platform and that the majority of uploads come from bad actors hoping to manipulate the system. This fight against AI-created music occurs as an estimated 147,000 tracks are uploaded daily to streaming services. With this technology still in its relative infancy, this will surely be an ongoing battle for all streaming platforms and human creators for the immediate future.
