illexotic drops infectious three track EP: Listen

Hailing from Oakland, CA, an area prime for artistic endeavor and expression, illexotic has been growing its platform in recent years. For their latest release, the duo provides three emotionally driven tracks with club-ready energy.

Consisting of members Corinita (she/they/he) and Josh (he), illexotic has already proven worthy of their Bay Area counterparts, delivering an official Too $hort remix and featuring Lil MC on their latest EP. The duo has also headlined Paname in San Francisco earlier this year and will spend New Year’s Eve opening for SHOGUN in the same city. With the release of the illexotic bass EP, they continue to deliver their hard-hitting brand of positive, diversity-driven anthems.

Hearing Voices

Opening the illexotic bass collection is the incredible music journey, Hearing Voices. On the second track of the EP, a massive layer of vocals opens things up, both enchanting listeners and allowing the production to build up to the massive force yet to come. Just as fans recover from the power of the bass-heavy drop, fellow Bay Area artist Lil MC steps to the mic, showing off her natural skills and providing the swagger to match the energy of the track. It’s a full showcase of Illexotic repping the Bay area and showcasing why so many artists and musicians come from the region.

El Diablo – Weird Science (illexotic Remix)

Closing out the EP, fans are treated to Oakland royalty as they remix El Diablo’s Weird Science which features vocals from none other than Too $short. The original, which is over a decade old, offers a fun update to the classic track, allowing fans to relive the classic verses while grooving to the hard-hitting energy of illexotic. It’s a strong closer for the collection and a satisfying ending to a powerful release.
