Austrian duo Klangkarussell mark their long-awaited comeback with their sophomore album, ‘Petrichor’, released November 7 via their label Bias Beach Records. More than ten years after their breakthrough debut ‘Netzwerk’, the pair deliver a mature and cinematic body of work that moves between club euphoria and emotional depth. Across 13 tracks, they explore themes of resilience, family, love, and self-discovery—proving that time has only refined their artistry.

Opening with ‘Truth Begins’ featuring Blazey, the album immediately sets a powerful tone. Right from the start, hypnotic arpeggios, cinematic breakdowns, and a pulsating groove build momentum, capturing the tension and release of confronting one’s inner truth. Moreover, it’s accompanied by a striking video starring Olympic gold medalist Anna Gasser, adding a visual layer to its emotional weight. As the record progresses, smooth transitions between soaring highs and introspective moments continue to define its core, keeping listeners deeply engaged throughout the journey.

Tracks like ‘Cross The Border’ featuring Bloom Twins tackle deeply personal narratives—reflecting on family life during wartime in Ukraine—while ‘The Tide’ featuring Elmar merges haunting vocals with lush, fluid production. Elsewhere, ‘Ride’ injects retro flair, drawing on 1980s disco-inspired synths that shimmer with carefree energy. Each collaboration, from GIVVEN and Senes to Marieme and Oliva, expands Klangkarussell’s sound into new emotional and cultural spaces.

As the duo look ahead to 2026, they plan to bring ‘Petrichor’ to life with a brand-new live act show—their first in over a decade. Reflecting on the album, Klangkarussell explain: “We wanted this album to feel like a journey through our world—the highs, the struggles, the quiet moments, the big ones. ‘Petrichor’ is about renewal, about finding beauty in change, just like the smell of rain after a storm.”
