Home Music Major Lazer drop new mixtape ‘GYALGEBRA’: Listen

Major Lazer surge into a new era with the release of their long-awaited mixtape ‘GYALGEBRA’, out now via Mad Decent / Because Music. After five years without a self-contained project, the trio return with the chaotic, culture-blending spirit that shaped early anthems like Pon De Floor and Watch Out For This (Bumaye). As their sound expands again, the spotlight shifts to America Foster, who officially joins the group as their first-ever in-house vocalist.

Foster takes center stage across five tracks, and she immediately asserts her presence on the explosive lead single ‘BRUK DOWN’ featuring Parris Goebel and SadBoi. She then channels classic ’90s dancehall on the solo cut ‘Peppa Pot’, adding a fresh identity to the group’s evolving sound. Her journey began when Diplo discovered her in London during 2024, and their chemistry grew quickly as she joined Major Lazer in Jamaica to begin recording. After sharpening her craft in the studio, she spent the summer performing with the group across Europe and building a fast-growing global fanbase.

Major Lazer reignite their legacy with a new era led

Major Lazer push the mixtape even further by tapping a diverse list of collaborators. Tokischa, DJ Chipman, Busy Signal, Kybba, Bunji Garlin, Lady Lava, SadBoi and Parris Goebel all help create a nine-track project that blends dancehall, drill, dembow, shatta, zess, bouyon, soca, Miami jook and funk carioca. Each track adds another layer to Major Lazer’s unpredictable blueprint while keeping Foster at the center.

This new chapter arrives after a massive legacy that includes global hits like Lean On, Cold Water and Light It Up, plus collaborations with Beyoncé, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, WizKid, Burna Boy and more. The trio also reignited their live presence this year with unconventional rollouts—premiering new music on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3, dropping surprise sets at U.S. college fraternities, and staging spontaneous performances across Europe.

With ‘GYALGEBRA’, Major Lazer officially restart the engine, introduce a powerful new voice and set the tone for another unpredictable chapter. Stream the mixtape below on Spotify below or via your preferred platform here.
