When artists return to a country or region after years without a stop, it is generally a big deal for both the talent and the fans longing to experience the music in person. With Martin Garrix set to return to Mexico this upcoming weekend for the Festival Internacional del Globo, anticipation was high for his Saturday set. Unfortunately, a medical emergency and surgery will prevent the producer from making the trip to Mexico. Taking to social media, Garrix revealed that he was diagnosed with a case of appendicitis he required surgery as part of his treatment.

Fresh off the recent release of his latest collection of songs, Martin Garrix continues to perform around the world. Unfortunately, the Dutch producer was forced to cancel an upcoming appearance following surgery.

Martin Garrix was supposed to join Afrojack and Dimitri Vegas this Saturday, November 15th, in Mexico, but will now spend the time recovering from his procedure. In his statement, he writes, “I’m truly heartbroken to share that due to an unexpected case of appendicitis and the surgery that followed, I’m unable to perform at the Festival International Del Globo this saturday. my doctors and team have strongly advised me to rest and recover to avoid any post-surgery complications. please know this decision wasn’t made lightly — I have some of my favorite memories ever performing in this incredible country and at @figleon !!” While unfortunate for fans in Mexico hoping to catch the Dutch star, his health and wellness are an understandable priority.

We at We Rave You hope for a quick recovery for Martin Garrix following his procedure.
