Last week, Skrillex delivered his latest single, hit me where it hurts x, alongside Dylan Brady and Caroline Polacheck. Fans, of course, clamor over anything the American producer releases, but unfortunately, this single came with a different speedbump. Taking to Twitter/X, the user shareafleetingthought, whose handle is @mourningdove77, noted that the cover art was a picture they had taken last year. The artist captioned the post with 'This is a photo I took last year if anybody cares cause what the fuck hahahahahaha.'

In the modern world, where artwork and content can be sourced from anywhere, it can be difficult to ensure proper rights usage for content. Skrillex came across this issue with his most recent single and has publicly apologized for the oversight.

Skrillex and designer Mira Joyce both responded to the post, taking responsibility for the oversight, hoping to make amends with he original creator. Replying via Twitter/X, Skrillex said, “We had selected this artwork based on what my team had shared and was completely unaware that this photo was taken by you. Though this single cover was outsourced, I take 100% accountability. I would love to contact you and do anything in my power to make amends and make this right. My absolute deepest apologies and regrets that this happened.” Joyce also shared “Really sorry for this, genuine mistake but i want to make this right. dmed you.”

As of this writing, we are not sure whether the photographer was able to connect with Skrillex or Joyce.
