Home Featured Coldplay deemed as best-selling artist of 21st century

Ever since achieving international success at the end of the 90s, Coldplay has maintained their level of international superstardom. A recent assessment of global success has determined that they reign supreme in the 21st century.

Serving as a prominent concert and artist tracker, Pollstar has compiled the data to determine the best selling artists of the 21st century. With nearly 25 million tickets sold across 730+ concerts since 2001, Coldplay topped the list, outdoing some of the other biggest names in the industry. Delivering consistent tours and selling out arenas and stadiums, the group surpassed other big names such as U2 and Ed Sheeran who held down the second and third sports on the list.

The list shared the top 25 artists based on sales and income over the last 25 years. The list further included stars such as Taylor Swift, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, and Kenny Chesney. All of them rounded out the top 10, and Swift served as the only female to crack the top 10. The article also noted the rise in ticket prices throughout the century, revealing that average prices rose 146% increase, jumping from $37 in 2001 to $90 in the modern day.
