Fatboy Slim & The Rolling Stones unite for ‘Satisfaction Skank’: Listen
In a historic crossover moment, Fatboy Slim and The Rolling Stones collide for the official release of ‘Satisfaction Skank’, a track fans have chased for more than two decades. Released through Southern Fried Records and ABKCO Records, the long-rumored mashup finally arrives and bridges two monumental eras of British music while honoring its club-culture legacy.
From the start, the mashup held mythical status. Fatboy Slim built the explosive hybrid from ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ and ‘The Rockafeller Skank’, turning both anthems into a dance-floor weapon that became a staple in his sets. Although fans begged for an official version for years, the release never materialized—until now.
As momentum grew, both artists agreed the timing felt right. Consequently, Norman Cook received the original 1965 stems in an armoured van, highlighting their cultural weight. He fully rebuilt the track, preserving the swagger of the Stones while injecting his trademark big-beat chaos. “It has been a favorite in my DJ sets for over a quarter of a century,” he said.
Moreover, the track draws strength from the shared DNA between both classics – relentless rhythm, looping riffs, and rebellious energy. Fatboy Slim nudges the tempo into modern club territory without losing its raw analogue punch, creating an analogue-meets-digital clash that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
To complete the release, Tom Furse and Elliot Gonzo deliver two striking visual interpretations, each built from Michael Spencer Jones’ iconic Rolling Stones archive. Their videos blend AI-driven 1960s recreations with surreal club-world fantasy, placing Fatboy Slim alongside the Stones in a moment fans never thought possible.
