FL Studio Web: Image Line unveils its online DAW
Image Line has announced FL Studio Web, a web-based version of its iconic DAW. In separate LinkedIn posts, their CEO Constantin Koehncke and Chief Product & Technology Officer Robert Linke announced the launch of its public beta.
While the information available right now is limited, the web-based DAW is expected to feature a workflow like the offline DAW. It is also reported to include FL Cloud integration, the same stock plugins, and a comparable user interface. The web-based DAW will support FL Studio compatibility, meaning users can begin working on a track online and later continue offline, offering greater flexibility in the production process. To help beginners adapt to the FL workflow, the platform will also include an interactive onboarding guide.
This new launch is not focused solely on improving mobility but also aims to make FL Studio more accessible. In his post, Linke said “Historically, the barrier to entry for music making has been high. Two decades ago, Fruity Loops delivered a massive step-change in lowering that barrier for hundreds of millions of users. Today, we are bringing it down again!”. He further stated, “FL Studio Web is a gateway into music production and the wider FL ecosystem. We’ve taken the iconic FL Studio workflow and streamlined it for the web, allowing anyone to start creating instantly – no downloads, no complex setups.”
As one of the first traditional DAWs to introduce a web-based application, FL Studio appears to be aligning itself with a growing industry trend toward browser-based creative tools. The public beta waitlist has opened for both new as well as existing users. You can check it out here.
