Fred again.. continues building his constantly evolving USB universe with the release of ‘solo’, the next track from his new phase of the project. Although the producer already delivered a heavy run of collaborations in recent months, this latest single extends the momentum behind a series defined by experimentation, spontaneity and cross-genre collaborations.

Throughout this new era, Fred has shared music at rapid speed, following ‘ICEY..’, ‘..FEISTY’ with BIA, ‘Winny’ with Sammy Virji and Winny, the ‘Beto’s Horns’ remixes with CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso and Ezra Collective, ‘Talk of the Town’ with Sammy Virji and Reggie, ‘HARDSTYLE 2’ with KETTAMA and Shady Nasty, ‘Facilita’ with Caribou and MC Teteu, ‘Ambery’ with Floating Points, the ‘the floor’ remixes with Skin On Skin and BEAM, ‘OK OK’ with Danny Brown, BEAM and PARISI, and ‘you’re a star’ with Amyl and the Sniffers. Moreover, he has kept fans fed with unofficial edits created live on Twitch and uploaded straight to SoundCloud.

Ten songs, ten cities, ten weeks

In September, Fred launched a bold concept for the USB002 cycle: ten songs and ten shows across ten cities in ten weeks. Consequently, each release and performance forms part of a wider story connecting his studio work with his improvised live approach.

Last week’s USB002 event took over Vancouver’s Convention Centre with Skream & Benga and SICARIA, accompanied by a custom installation from visual artist Boris Acket—a piece that will appear at every stop of the tour. Furthermore, tonight’s show in San Francisco at Cow Palace features Hamdi, Oppidan, and bad juuju b3b Clearcast b3b Vertigo, adding another layer to the expanding USB orbit.

Fred’s USB concept began in 2022 with tracks such as ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ with Skrillex and Flowdan, ‘Jungle’, ‘leavemealone’ with Baby Keem, and ‘stayinit’ with Lil Yachty – later pressed into the vinyl release USB001 in 2024. With ‘solo’, the producer continues shaping one of electronic music’s most inventive release formats. Listen to the track on Spotify below or via your preferred platform here.
