Jeff Mills’ legendary Live at Liquid Room mix has finally arrived on streaming platforms, marking the first digital release of one of techno’s most influential live documents. Recorded during Mills’ 1995 DJ set at Tokyo’s Liquidroom nightclub, the mix now streams exclusively via Apple Music, bringing a historic moment in club culture to a new generation of listeners.

The 66-minute, 36-track recording distills Mills’ original three-hour performance into a tightly focused snapshot of his mid-’90s sound. The mix spans 17 of Mills’ own productions, including an early version of his defining track ‘The Bells’, while also weaving in work from contemporaries such as Richie Hawtin, Robert Armani, and Joey Beltram. Originally released on CD and cassette as part of Sony Japan’s Mix-Up series, Live at Liquid Room never received a proper digital release—until now.

This streaming debut followed renewed attention around the mix, which continues to shape conversations around techno history. On December 14, 2025, Mills hosted ‘Spending Time With Jeff Mills’ at Gloria, RSO Berlin, a three-hour multidisciplinary event. The evening opened with the 30th-anniversary documentary of Live at Liquid Room, placing the performance within its broader cultural and artistic context.

Mills will also join Carola Stoiber for an in-depth conversation, exploring the mindset behind his work as both DJ and thinker. The program continues with an art exhibition curated by Mills and concludes with a book-signing session, offering fans rare insight into his creative world.

Reflecting on his approach, Mills often emphasizes the contrast between rigid DJ hardware and human intuition. While machines impose limits, he sees the DJ as the only truly fluid element—capable of bending structure into something alive. With Live at Liquid Room now available on streaming, that philosophy feels more accessible than ever.
