mau5trap to release ‘We Are Friends Vol. 12’ in January

Initially begun in 2012, mau5trap is continuing to deliver new artists and volumes of its iconic We Are Friends (WAF) series. The latest offering will be part of a two-disc collection, and fans will get to hear it in early January.

No matter one’s opinion on deadmau5, and everyone has one, he has helped to cultivate and expand the reach of plenty of techno producers throughout the first half of the 21st century. Under his imprint, mau5trap, the label, and its mix series We Are Friends have helped launch the careers of incredible talents such as Rezz, i_o, BlackGummy, ATTLAS, and more. The latest in the series, Volume 12, will be released on January 9th, giving fans disc 1 of the two-disc collection. Leading the build-up to next month’s release, fans can listen to the two tracks off the compilation.

The first one comes courtesy of Ciauru, whose pulsing single Supersonic Electronic (on acid) carries on the tradition of energetic and perfectly off-kilter energy that the mau5trap imprint has cultivated. Also, ahead of the release, fans can listen to the lone remix included amongst the 15-track first disc of We Are Friends Vol. 12. Further reimagining the iconic deadmau5 hit Strobe, &friends and Moeaike bring a lush, yet inviting energy to the track. Both tracks are out now, providing fans a chance to explore what is to come from mau5trap in 2026.
