Baby Audio has released Tekno V1.1, a substantial update introducing one of the most requested features since launch: an onboard sequencer.

The headline addition in V1.1 is a new sequencer view built directly into the plugin. Rather than relying entirely on MIDI programming in the DAW, users can now sketch and refine beats inside Tekno itself. The sequencer provides dedicated lanes for all 18 drum voices, each supporting up to 32 steps, making it suitable for both straightforward patterns and more experimental rhythmic ideas.

Beyond basic step programming, the sequencer includes smart randomisation, hit probability, lane length control for polyrhythms, and speed multipliers.

Alongside the sequencer, Tekno V1.1 introduces global undo and redo, full kit sample export, and the addition of four choke groups.

Baby Audio has also confirmed an iOS version of Tekno, launching alongside the V1.1 update on January 8, 2026, with full AUv3 support.

In our earlier We Rave You Tech review of Tekno, we highlighted its punchy sound character and depth as a drum synthesiser, while noting that beat creation relied heavily on external sequencing. The addition of an onboard sequencer directly addresses that gap.
