Sharing a side-by-side comparison, UK-based DJ and record producer Ben Hemsley has accused Hugel and Matt Sassari of plagiarising his edit of ‘It Feels So Good.’

Taking to his social media accounts, and Instagram in particular, UK-born DJ and record producer Ben Hemsley has accused Hugel and Matt Sassari of plagiarising his edit of Sonique’s 90s hit ‘It Feels So Good.’ Sharing a side-by-side comparison of the tech-house edit that he unofficially released back in 2017, with the rendition that the French producers unveiled in 2024, it is the similarities between the tracks that have led to the former’s accusations on the matter.

An original edit that Hemsley released at the beginning of his career, at just 19 years of age, and one that has been circulating ever since, has prompted the man himself to state that there are “no excuses for this one,” as Sassari would have been aware of the edit prior to his collaboration with Hugel. Adding to the plagiarism claims, Hemsley has made his thoughts quite clear, with his post captioning the following statement:

“Looool at the scene… “Scene” robbing a 19 year old version of myself and still not managing to make it as good haha. Not doing this for money, which I could deffo take them to court for… But more so to show yous how fake some people are lol.”

One to keep our eyes on for sure, both Hugel and Sassari are yet to respond to Hemsley’s claims on the matter, with their edit still ranking in the charts, and amassing millions of views on the constant. Intriguing to say the very least, we would also like to know your own thoughts in the comments section.
